MyCAA - will help sustain military

Great NPR piece on MyCAA and how it will help the military in a big way if it is brought back.

The money quote talking about how the military might break in the next 10 years: "military wives and families will be broken due tot he stress and strain of deployment after deployment."

Giving spouses an amazing education benefit is one way to really help spouses by making a difference in their lives. Good to see some pressure on bringing it back and holding President Obama and the First Lady accountable for promises to bring it back.

  1. You really should not post this it gives spouses false hope. The DoD has not posted anything to Mycaa about opening back up this program. Where did you get your info. from.

  2. I totally concur with you and would not give false hope. However, Secretary Gates himself said that it would be coming back and military.com reported that $500M would be available. http://edumilitary.blogspot.com/2010/05/gates-mycaa-back-in-two-weeks.html

  3. Is this only in regards to those that weren't already approved for MyCAA prior to the funding halt or just everyone in general in the MyCAA program?

  4. This is supposed to open MyCAA up to all spouses again. Those already with a progam of study have had their funds turned on. This is to allow new spouses to come into the program. There will be limits this time and some new regulations we have heard to ensure they can provide for the amazing demand.
